Website: we don't use cookies

The Speechineer website does not set any tracking, analytics, marketing, or preference cookies. No third-party cookies are loaded either.

For usage statistics we run a self-hosted instance of Matomo in cookieless mode. Matomo does not set cookies, does not store anything on your device, and processes only anonymised data (truncated IP, page URL, clicks and sections viewed, referrer, browser, approximate location). Details are described in our Privacy Policy.

Because no cookies are set and no information is stored on or read from your device, no cookie consent is required under the ePrivacy Directive / TTDSG.

Portal: strictly necessary cookies only

When you sign in to the Speechineer portal (the account area behind the sign-in), we set the cookies that are technically required to keep you signed in and to protect your session. They are first-party, are never used for tracking or advertising, and are not shared with third parties:

• spnr_access — your session token; expires after 1 hour.
• spnr_refresh — renews the session token; expires after 7 days or when you sign out.
• csrftoken — protects your requests against cross-site request forgery.

Your interface preferences (language, layout) are stored in your browser's local storage under a speechineer.* key and never leave your device. As all of the above is strictly necessary for the service you requested (§ 25 (2) TTDSG), no consent is required and there is no cookie banner. Signing out removes the session cookies.

Public demo

The demo at /demo runs real speech sessions without an account. To do that it keeps a few entries in your browser's local storage — no cookies, nothing readable by anyone else, and nothing that leaves your device except the first item, which travels with the demo requests so that usage can be limited per visitor:

• speechineer.demo.visitor — a random id for this browser (no name, no account). It exists to attribute and cap demo usage, which is what keeps the demo open to everyone.
• speechineer.demo.ack — remembers that you confirmed the notice before the first recording, so we don't ask again.
• speechineer.demo.use-case — the example you last looked at.
• speechineer.analytics.optout — set only if you switch measurement off below.

What we measure on the demo is the same cookieless Matomo as everywhere else: which example was opened, when a session was started or stopped, whether it produced a field, how many seconds it ran, and how long an example stayed open. It is aggregated usage data, not a recording — audio and transcripts are not stored for analytics.

Because none of this uses cookies or reads anything from your device beyond what the demo itself needs, no consent banner is required. If you would still rather not be counted, switch it off here — the setting applies immediately and stays in this browser:
